The Green Growth community remains devoted to promoting green growth in the Mediterranean region, this time in the area of Balkan peninsula. Therefore, we invite you to participate in the webinar Let’s get concrete about Green Growth and Circular economy in the Balkans on Thursday 03 June 2021 at 09:00am CET, organized by Center for Energy, Environment and Resources – CENER 21.
The webinar aims to inspire a range of stakeholders for a positive change through storytelling about successful green growth and circular economy initiatives tested across the Mediterranean. Concrete solutions from eight modular projects within the Green Growth community will ignite the interest for transferability and replicability of tested solutions in the Balkans.
The speakers will lead the participants through four sessions:
Session 1 – Introduction to webinar
Session 2 – Innovative Tools to Support Green Growth and Circular Economy in SMEs
Session 3 – Waste management
Session 4 – Green Growth Financing and Procurement
During the session 2 - Innovative Tools to Support Green Growth and Circular Economy in SMEs, Nicola Colonna will present PEFMED project with a presentation entitled “Product Environmental Footprint tool assessing the product life cycle hotspots and improvement potentials for olive oil, bottled water and wine sectors”.
This webinar is beneficial for the representatives of national, entity and local public authorities, public enterprises, sectoral agencies, higher education and research, private sector (SMEs), interest groups including NGOs. Throughout the webinar sessions, potential stakeholders will hear more about transforming agricultural and wine businesses towards a circular economy approach, how agricultural processes and practices impact the quality of the final product, learn more about creative techniques to generate new innovative ideas in SMEs, find out about utilization of livestock waste to produce high-value bio-fertilisers, and many more interesting stories from the Mediterranean.
It will be explained what is the most appropriate level for use of the modular project’s solutions (local, national, regional), what is their transfer potential, project replicability and what challenges may arise.
This activity is a part of the Green Growth project, implemented within the Interreg Mediterranean Programme.
