The ECO-READY Project is set to hold its 2nd Annual Consortium Meeting on 3rd-4th April 2024 at Cranfield University, Bedford, UK. The project, which focuses on improving food security in Europe, addresses the complex relationships between climate change, biodiversity, and food systems. A key aspect of the project is its emphasis on understanding these connections and involving diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, the scientific community, and the agri-food industry, in developing practical solutions.
The 2nd annual consortium meeting at Cranfield University promises to be a pivotal event for the ECO-READY project. It will feature a panel discussion on the first day, focusing on the integration of Living Labs (LLs) and scenario analysis to enhance policy efficiency in the intertwined areas of food security, climate change, and biodiversity. Some of the main objectives of the session include:
- Presenting insights from the Living Labs, highlighting commonalities, key drivers, and barriers that influence policy goals.
- Discussing how scenario analysis can help translate LL findings into actionable, science-based policy recommendations.
- Identifying policy gaps and challenges by comparing LL-derived objectives with current policies.
- Engaging stakeholders, such as policymakers, researchers, and field-level actors, in a participatory dialogue to refine policy pathways.
This meeting is an important step in advancing the project’s goals of creating science-driven, sustainable policies that can improve Europe’s food security and resilience in the face of climate change. It will be a critical space for collaboration, sharing knowledge, and shaping future strategies. As task leader, ENEA played an essential role in coordinating specific activities and tasks within the project, helping to ensure that the outcomes are aligned with the overarching goals of the ECO-READY initiative. This role also highlights the importance of collaborative partnerships across various sectors to tackle the complex challenges of food security, biodiversity, and climate change.
