ENEA at Fiera AGRILEVANTE 2025

ENEA participated in the workshop titled “By-products from the Agri-food Industry and Their Derivatives: Effective Resources to Regenerate Soils and Safeguard the Environment” at Fiera AGRILEVANTE 2025 on 10th of October

Agrilevante, the leading Mediterranean trade fair for agricultural machinery, equipment, and technologies, took place from October 9 to 12, 2025, in Bari. Spanning 55,000 sqm and showcasing over 350 companies, it represents a key event for the agricultural sector.

ENEA participated in the workshop titled “By-products from the Agri-food Industry and Their Derivatives: Effective Resources to Regenerate Soils and Safeguard the Environment” scheduled on October 10, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Centro Congressi - Sala 6.

The event was organised by ITABIA in collaboration with ENEA and the National Interuniversity Consortium for Environmental Sciences (CINSA – University of Parma).

The event aimed at bringing together experts, researchers, and industry stakeholders to explore innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture, focusing on the valorization of agro-industrial by-products as a means to restore soil fertility and reduce environmental impact.

This workshop focused on the valorisation of by-products from the primary sector, which are widely available across Italy and can be used in various sustainable applications.

A special focus was given to the production of biochar, a valuable material with dual potential: as a soil amendment in agriculture and as a green component in the steel industry’s production cycle. To explore these themes, speakers will present the goals and outcomes of several European and national projects, including RuralBioUp, DeliSoil, BioCoDe, and RoboCoop.

The DELISOIL project was represented by ENEA and CINSA (University of Parma) through oral presentations focusing on the microbiological role of biofertilizers and biochar applications in agriculture.

ENEA shared its expertise in biosolutions for sustainable agriculture, highlighting microbiome-based approaches and soil improvers aimed at improving soil health, reducing agricultural waste, and supporting climate-resilient farming.

The workshop was part of a broader initiative to promote the sustainable management of resources in the agri-food sector and foster the transition toward a more circular and low-impact agricultural model.
