Graduated in Chemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with an analytical environmental thesis, in 1999 she gained a PhD in “Chemical Sciences”, with a thesis on “Selenium speciation in environmental matrices”.
Since 2000 she has been working as a Researcher at ENEA on several R&D activities, such as:
- design, development and implementation of treatment processes (transformation, homogenization, extraction, concentration, drying, packaging, etc.) on agro-industrial residues, with the aim of recovering bioactive molecules;
- consultancy activities to support enterprises in the agro-industrial sector in order to improve their processes/products and to valorize their by-products in the Circular Bioeconomy perspective (under a confidentiality agreement);
- as Panel Leader and Selected Assessor (in accordance with ISO 8586, parts 1 and 2), coordination of the ENEA sensory panel and management of Consumer Tests, in order to carry out sensory evaluations on innovative or nutraceutical food products;
- development and validation of analytical methods;
- production of Reference Materials with regard to the agro-food sector;
- Quality & Food Safety Systems (ISO 9001, GobalG.A.P., traceability);
- as Environmental Auditor, implementation of Environmental Management System (ISO14001, EMAS), in particular for small and medium-sized enterprises in the agro-food sector;
- as a Technical Committee member of the integrated Safety and Environmental Management System (ISO45001&ISO14001) of Trisaia ENEA Centre, monitoring the safety and environmental aspects of chemical laboratories and pilot plants;
- assessment of chemical risk.
