Cortona Procarioti is a well-established microbiology meeting supported by SIMGBM (Società Italiana di Microbiologia Generale e Biotecnologie Microbiche, ) and AGI (Associazione Genetica Italiana) bringing together  microbiologists from all the major iItalian research groups. Project partner Annamaria Bevivino will present the latest research from the SIMBA project on ‘Effect of Plant Probiotics and Biochar Application on Rhizosphere Biodiversity and Maize Growth in the Field’. During the same event Valeria Poscente, PhD student in Plant and Animal Production Sciences  (La Tuscia University) will present the work performed at the Laboratory Agrifood Sustainability, Quality and Safety (BIOAG -SOQUAS)  under the supervision of Dr.Annamaria Bevivino, and published on  Foods-MDPI, the research was funded by 5 × 1000 Italian funds and also supported by the TWAS—ENEA Research Training Fellowships Programme (https://twas.org/opportunity/twas-enea-research-training-fellowships-pro...), entitled: "Synergistic Action of Mild Heat and Essential Oil Treatments on Culturability and Viability of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 Tested In Vitro and in Fruit Juice"  https://www.mdpi.com/2304-8158/11/11/1615.
